Turkish Cultural Center Boston (TCCB), Council of Turkic American Association (CTAA) and Helping Hands Relief Foundation (HHRF) visited Governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln D. Chafee.
TCCB Executive Director Burhan Kaya and CTAA President Furkan Kosar briefed about Turkic Council and explained the institutional plans for the state of RI. The dialogue went on extremely pleasant and helpful for both parties. Governor of Rhode Island, Lincoln D. Chafee said they are willing to help the Council to organize events at the State House.
President Kosar told Governor Chafee about establishing institutes for Turkish-Americans in the area to help them to integrate and engage to society better. CTAA was planning on opening a Turkish Cultural Center in Rhode Island. Governor Chafee explained the significance of such institutions such as; preserving the culture and encouraging different background to learn about each other.
